The registration procedure for changing the branch address

When changing the branch address, the company should especially consider registering to change the address with an authorized agency. Following are the steps to change the branch address as prescribed by the Law on Enterprise 2020.

1. An application for changing the branch address include:

  • Notify the changing of the operation registration content according to Appendix II-9 Circular 01/2021/TT-BKHDT. 

  • Meeting record of  Board of Members (multi - member Limited Liability companies with 2 or more members)/Board of Directors (Joint-Stock Company) on changing of branch operation contents.

  • Decision to change the registered address of the branch of the Board of Members/ Administrative Council

  • A valid copy of one of the personal identification documents: citizen identification card, identity card, passport of the applicant.

  • Authorization document for the applicant (in case of authorization to implement the procedure)

2. The procedure of registration for changing the branch address

Step 1:

Before registering to change the branch address, the company must implement the procedures and work with the tax authority to finalize the tax in the case of relocation leading to the transfer of the tax authority, and in case the relocation does not lead to the transfer of the tax authority, there is no need to work with the tax authority on the relocation of the branch.

Step 2: Submit application to the business registration office (submit online)

After receiving the results of tax closing of the old tax office's branch address, the enterprise shall send a Notice of change in the content of branch operation registration to the Business Registration Office.

  • In case the branch's address is relocated within the province or central city where the branch has been registered: The enterprise shall send a Notification to the Business Registration Office where the branch is located.

  • In case the branch's address is moved to another province or central city where the branch is registered: The enterprise sends a Notification to the business registration office where the branch intends to move.

Step 3: Receive result

Within 03 days from the date of receiving a valid application, the Business Registration Office will check the application and change the branch registration information in the national database as well as issue a registration certificate of the new branch.

  • Law on Enterprise No. 59/2020/QH14 of the National Assembly dated June 17, 2020.

  • Decree No. 01/2021/ND-CP of the Government dated January 4, 2021 on business registration.

  • Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BKHDT of the Ministry of Planning and Investment dated March 16, 2021 guiding business registration
